Aretha Franklin issues statement on missing Whitney's funeral

Extra TV, the New York Post and Newsday (New York) should stop the BS. Cissy Houston and I have been longtime friends for almost 50 years. I have four invitations and parking passes that were sent to me for the funeral. Extra TV, the New York Post and Newsday (New York) are more interested in sensationalism and negative speculations than the truth. People are getting their information from the wrong source. The intelligent and the thoughtful thing to do would be to respect and have some sensitivity to the moment. If you don’t know how, at least try. Cissy does not need ridiculous speculation and neither do I—particularly at this time. Also, with respect to the Today Show, my entire statement was pretaped. However, the Today Show did not air the part of my statement, which said, “This is no reflection on Cissy or Nippy’s upbringing.” Knowing Cissy as well as I do, I know Whitney left home right and properly. I was generalizing and it was a well intended statement for any young adult coming into the music industry. I was not speaking of anyone specifically.

Welp the unexpected has happened! Lol. Rihanna and Chris Brown have teamed up once again to create more music. The internet was set on fire last week with rumors that Rihanna and Chris Brown were in the studio working on the remix to her interlude. Birthday Cake, from last album Talk That Talk.

Yesterday Whitney Elizabeth Houston, "The Voice", took the world to church at her funeral. The star studded service was full of laughs and tears. Even though I watched at home...I felt like I attended a funeral. It was very classy and beautifully done. Kevin Costner gave a light hearted memory filled speech, Kim Burrell remixed a Sam Cooke classic song for Whitney, and friends/family spoke highly of Whitney. The end of the funeral when they lifted her casket and played "I Will Always Love You", gave me chills and made her death all to real. If you missed the funeral or watch it again. For Better or For Worse is a sitcom based on the marital woes of Marcus (Michael Jai White) and Angela (Tasha Smith) characters from the 2007 film “Why Did I Get Married?” While the show received mixed reviews, it still finished as basic cable’s #1 sitcom of 2011. Well TBS was so impressed that they ordered 35 more episodes of the sitcom. Look for season 2 very soon.

Bobby Brown issues statement on Whitney's funeral

As many of us watched Whitney Houston's funeral from our homes, Bobby Brown hoped to honor his ex wife in person at the funeral, however that wasnt allowed to happen. Reports went rampant that Bobby Brown left the church shortly after the funeral started. Many blog reported that he had a huge entourage with him and he caused a scene. In reality, that was not the case. Bobby issued the following statement explaining why he and his children left the church.

“My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

I really hope this doesn't forsee how his relationship with Bobbi Kristina will go in the future.

Im not a huge Tyga fan but this song is pretty dope...YMCMB rappers are 1654616% better when they step away from that wack 1 2 flow that YMCMB insists on using. Tyga is riding the beat on this one and Nicki let go of the gimmicks and she spits on here. Lets stay this way Nicki.

The blogsphere is going crazy with reports on who Rihanna has been in the studio with! If you recall on Rihanna's latest album, Talk That Talk, featured the song Birthday Cake which was only 1:18 long...Rihanna took to Twitter to ask her fans who she should feature on the song....

According to Billboard.com Rihanna is featuring ex-boyfriend Chris Brown on the song.

Over the weekend, Chris Brown and Rihanna were seen leaving a West Hollywood studio, separately. Co-producers of "Birthday Cake," Da Internz -- comprised of Kosine and Tuo -- hinted on the collaboration when they told MTV News that the cameo on the track would "shock the world."

"It's gonna be crazy," Tuo said. "And the feature on there is gonna shock the world," Kosine added. SOURCE

When I saw Missy was featured on the track I instantly had to listen. The beat is crazy and Busta actually raps coherently. Lol Missy snaps on the mic once again. "You aint on Missy level betta get up on ya tippy toes". Lil Wayne raps about his usual...skateboarding, being in jail, drugs, and sex, lol, his verse goes down though. "My blunt last longer than friendships". Chis Brown jumps on the hook to bring the song together. I love the song...definite smash in my book. Check it out below.

As always I will be posting my review on the 2012 Grammys...my likes..my dislikes. keep in mind the following comments are MY opinion. Check out the review and performances below. Overall I gave the Grammy's a C. Find out why after the jump.

LL Cool J hosted and did a great job. I swear that man doesn't age...Whewwww. I loved the fact that he opened with a prayer from Whitney Houston...it was so touching.

Shortly after the prayer they showed a clip of Whitney performing "I Will Always Love You" in a past Grammy show.

The show opened up with Bruce Springsteen

Bruno Mars took the stage and did a phenomenal job!!! I loved his energy, his outfit, the dancing, the music....everything!!!!

Alicia Keys took to the stage to honor Etta James

The Grammy for Best solo pop performance went to Adele...and she was well deserving. Did yall catch Bruno Mars tantrum back stage? Yeah....no comment.

Chris Brown returned to the Grammy stage with an exhilarating performance of Turn Up The Music and Beautiful People

Best Rap Performance went to Kanye West and Jay Z for Otis, hedging out Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and Wiz Khalifa...not a big shock there.

Kelly Clarkson and Jason Aldean took the stage shortly after.

The Foo Fighters performed outside for the fans that couldn't make it inside the actual awards show

Nicki Minaj and her Red Riding Hood outfit was ummmmmmm...sigh...I dunno. I kinda dig it but I kinda dont.

I love Bruno Mars but I want him to give Anita Baker her hairstyle back and get a new one...and Im almost positive him and A Keys had the same hair stylist.

Why wasnt Kanye West at the awards? Absolutely no reason he couldnt be there...but whatever.

Rihanna's dress was hott but her hair look like a wet dog....not a fan of the blonde. PS She is a terrible singer...just my opinion though.

I loved the fact that Victor Cruz did his lil dance. LMAO

I really need Stevie to get rid of those dreads...he just has to...

FAME did not deserve RnB album of the year in my personal opinion but hey....

Is there any reason that Etta James, Vesta Williams, and Don Cornelius werent included in the visual for people that passed? The Grammy's dropped the ball hugely.

Diana Ross received her LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT during the pre show?! Come on Grammys!!

I think Nicki Minaj had the dopest performance of the night...mainly because it was the most entertaining. She kept my attention the entire time. The theme was kinda weird but I loved it.
